NACG (National Alliance for Children's Grief) Symposium

  • Kansas City Marriott Downtown 200 West 12th Street Kansas City, MO, 64105 United States (map)

The National Alliance for Children’s Grief (NACG) Symposium is the longest-running and most comprehensive childhood bereavement event in the U.S., attracting over 500 grief support professionals and volunteers annually from around the world. The symposium features the latest research, clinical developments, and best practices for supporting grieving children and teens, as well as opportunities for networking and professional development through workshops and presentations on a wide range of topics related to children’s grief and program management.

Presentation: "From Page to Purpose: How Creating a Book Helps Children Make Meaning and Find Voice"

Rooster & Hen Resources will introduce an inspiring bookmaking process to support grieving children. In the session, participants will be guided through creative storytelling techniques—such as story arcs, storyboarding, character development, and writing epilogues—that help children express and process their grief journey by crafting their own books. Attendees will also learn how to adapt this process for their own grief support programs.
