Meet Ms. Rebecca at the Bucktown Arts Fest!

Ms. Rebecca was at Chicago’s Bucktown Arts Fest 2024, an annual summer tradition featuring local artists where proceeds support arts education in the community!

The Kids Tent was filled with curiosity when…

Ms. Rebecca was done with story time at the highly anticipated Bucktown Arts Fest 2024! Every summer, 30,000 show up for the fun to celebrate the work of local artists and to support arts education in the community. And this year did not disappoint!

Our founder and Chief Education Officer Rebecca Wu is a Chicago native and has made Bucktown her home since 2017. The Arts Fest is a must for her and her family every summer - even their dog doesn’t miss it. As a longtime supporter and fan, she was beyond excited to be a part of this year’s programming!

What a time of reading, sharing, and art-making! The ice cream from Community Creamery, was a hit and folks got to see the new stickers and journals for sale! Thank you to those who stopped by!

Story Time + Art is Rebecca’s jam. Just ask anyone who knows her. Whether it is presenting to fellow helpers at conferences or leading Family Art Club at the park, Rebecca believes in the power of creativity and sharing story. Her personal journey to help and educate others as they navigate the ups and downs of life became a professional mission when she experienced grief and loss in her family. That is how Rooster & Hen came to be. While there are many tried-and-true methods and helpful resources, she has found that storytelling and art making are the most straight forward tools for everyone because they speak the common language of expression and connection.
